Guitar by Bill Basinger
I started out as a Christmas present for a guy that thought he could learn to play me on his own and well, he was wrong. So I spent the next twelve years a sad and lonely guitar tucked away in a dark closet. Then out of the blue this guy decided he would give it another try. He dusted me off, found a teacher and at the age of 63 this guy and I were off on a new adventure. Found out the two of us could do something we never imagined. We’ve been having a lot of fun and made lots of new friends. This guys daughter took up the banjo big time and they are making memories few can share. It warms my wooden heart and sometimes I get a little misty.
If you have a desire to make music no matter your age “ Walls of Time Music” just might be your ticket.
As for this ole guitar…..I ain’t lonely no more !
Layla Clements
My name is Layla Clements and I am 17 years old, I started singing in church a little over a year ago and decided with a little persuasion to try guitar. I had barely even touched a guitar before beginning the lessons with Kim. I have learned more in two weeks from Kim’s lessons than I ever even imagined. She makes learning the guitar so interesting and enjoyable. Kim is a very great teacher, she is very encouraging, and she even uses humor to get you to remember the things you need to know. I am very happy that I chose to take lessons from her.
Tillman Long
Pondering my upcomming retirement, I decided that I needed something to occupy my time. So I ordered a banjo, which came with an instruction manual. I thought, no problem, I’ll be playing in no time. Well after a few months of plucking the strings, my wife asked my neighbor (who happens to a teacher of numerous stringed instruments) when can you teach my husband how to play his banjo?
Well some years later, I am still involved in lessons, playing in jam sessions and actually playing in a bluegrass band, all thanks to the patience of one super teacher. If you are interested in learning to play a stringed instrument, I highly recommend Kim Terpening at Walls Of Time Acoustic Music School. I hope to see you at a jam session soon!
