Everyone Can Play Something
“The most thing I hear from people approaching me with a desire to play music is ….'I am not sure I can do this'.” Kim has been teaching 35 years and a full time road musician for 20 years. “The most important thing I have learned over the years is everyone can play something on the instrument of choice. Everyone can do something with music. If you can walk and breathe, you've got rhythm and I will find it!” ~ Kim Terpening
Keeping It Positive
“I am a positive upbeat teacher. I never use any form of negativity to motivate a student. Only encouragement, personal experience and humor. FUN is first. I feel that if you are enjoying the material you are working on, like your favorite song, and our over all goal is to have fun with music.” ~ Kim Terpening
A Different Kind of Music Lesson
Walls Of Time is special because every student gets music/tab written out for them based on their level of musical ability. We use 'easy read tab' developed by Kim Terpening. Focusing on the beat and written to suit the individual player/singer. Formal music reading and music theory is taught based on individual student requests.
Cost and More Info
Private lessons are offered once a week for 45 minutes based on your schedule. Jam class is also offered for free every Thursday from 4:00pm to 6:30 pm. This is included in your monthly lesson cost of $25.00 a week.
The last full week of each month is Jam Week. We jam every day from 4:00pm to 6:30. If a student is not ready to jam yet, this week is optional until they feel ready to participate. Private lessons for new students can be scheduled during this week but usually no private lessons are scheduled for more advanced players.
